Celebrating Foods Co-ops Nationwide with a “Virtual” Video Premiere
Kevin Gillespie, celebrity chef from the Woodfire Grill in Atlanta, Georgia and sixth season Top Chef finalist, has been traveling around the country exploring farm fields and co-op grocery aisles as part of this year’s celebration of the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives. The 2012 International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) presents a great opportunity for food co-ops nationwide to shine the spotlight on the role co-ops and delicious food play in bringing communities together.
On Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., you’re invited to the “premiere party” featuring the first three videos in the thirteen-episode series featuring co-ops from Vermont to California. At 7:30 p.m., the deli seating area will transform into a theatre complete with popcorn and soda! We’re kicking off the International Year of the Co-op surrounded by our fellow co-opers and stories of cooperative success. Or grab your favorite movie snacks and visit www.strongertogether.coop/premiere at 8 p.m. to take part in an online streaming “premiere party.”
Following the premiere, new videos will be released online every other Monday from February 6 through mid-June at www.strongertogether.coop. Stay tuned for IYC events throughout 2012.
