Annual Report 2006-2007
The 2006-2007 year was a very eventful one. Sales topped $8.6 million representing a 10% increase over the previous year. We negotiated a new lease and expansion space. Major work went into planning and preparing for the expansion and renovation. It's amazing that anything else happened, but a lot did.
Accomplishments
Expansion
- Negotiated new lease
- Obtained expansion financing through National Co-operative Bank
- Raised $245,000.00 in owner loans for the expansion
- Hired deli consultant to plan deli programs and draw floor plans for the expansion
- Hired CDS consultants for store planning and financial planning
Marketing
- Redesigned New Leaf Market logo
- Co-hosted NPR pledge drive twice
- Expanded wine tasting program
- Introduced Spotlight on Local newsletter articles
- Participated in SpringTime Tallahassee parade
- Added CAP flyer to newsletter
Operations
- Fully implemented Livable Wage
- Expanded Grab 'n Go offerings
- Hired new produce managers
- Hired new deli manager
- Reset store
- Purchased new deli equipment
- Converted and updated accounting software
- 432 new owners
Training
- Sent four staff members to Rising Star trainings
- Sent six staff members and two BOD to Consumer Cooperative Management Association
- Annual Conference
- Store manager attended Deli Operations training
- Hired operations consultant to visit store
- Attended HR conference in Orlando
- Conducted Workplace Harassment education seminar
- CPR training for all managers
- Expanded new staff orientation program
