Your Co-op In The News
It was a great honor to receive the 25th Annual Small Business of the Year Award (31-99 employees) on behalf of the New Leaf Market staff and Board of Directors. Thank you to the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce for recognizing New Leaf Market and all of you who support our efforts here at the store and in our community.
Annual Ownership Meeting
We are gearing up for yet another Annual Ownership Meeting to be held Sunday, August 15 from noon-3:30 pm at Goodwood Museum and Gardens, located at 1600 Miccosukee Road, in Tallahassee. Owners are invited to stop by for a great lunch supplied by our deli, followed by annual reports from me and the Board of Directors.
Always Room for Improvement
We continue to update and improve the store. We recently reset our produce department with new display shelving that makes shopping much easier. It looks fabulous and I want to appreciate our great produce staff for all their efforts.
Plans are in the works to expand our bakery section. Look for a new display and expanded selection where the pastry case currently resides. The meat and seafood department has added three new local lamb, beef and goat producers. In addition they have back-up plans to keep our seafood section full should we have our local seafood sources cut off due to the oil spill in the Gulf. Our specialty department (wine, beer, cheese) has found some wonderful wines that are under $10! Find them throughout the store in large case stack displays.
